“Dr. Nmy” is the artist name of László Nemessányi, based in Budapest, Hungary. Although we are not currently performing live concerts, we identify as a passionate alterrock band.
László is an musical instrument maker in his own workshop " Nemessányi hangszer"in Budapest.
Also he has experience as a musician in many genres, including classical, jazz and rock music.
The Dr. Nmy band has been active since 2014. Initially, the group collaborated with Attila Felvinczi, János Juhász, and Miklós Kocsi jr. to write songs together. However, this lineup disbanded at the end of 2017 after delivering several successful concerts and completing a few studio recordings.
In 2016, László began to focus more seriously on songwriting. Dr. Nmy resumed performances in 2019 with an energetic set of ten punk songs.
Current band members include László Nemessányi as lead singer and guitarist, his son Bálint Nemessányi on drums, and Róbert Drexler as bassist.
The first album, "Updates," was completed during the lockdown, built on a drum track recorded at a concert in 2019. This album was released on April 6, 2021, via TuneCore. Notably, Tamás Borbély contributed a guitar solo on the track “Go Insane,” marking the beginning of a new chapter for the band.
Following the lockdown, the focus shifted to studio work. On May 15, 2022, the EP titled “Lights” was released, featuring three significant tracks.
On August 22, 2022, a live album was released, including a new track titled “Running out of Time.” Later, on December 22, 2022, an instrumental album called “Too Far” was released, showcasing selections from László 's other works.
Meanwhile, Bálint pursued studies abroad; however, we recorded the drum tracks for the second album before his departure.
A single titled “Fear and Darkness” was released on August 8, 2023, serving as a promotional piece.
The album “Behind the Wall” was released on October 25, 2023, featuring six entirely new songs along with the single from 2023 and three tracks from the "Lights" EP.
2024. new single: Big Dismay. Luca Kézdy's violin playing brought a new color to Dr. Nmy's music.
In december released the single: Win or Die .
in 12 February 2025 we released the third album: Alternative
